April is National Child Abuse Prevention month and Sexual Assault Awareness month. And this week is National Crime Victims Week.

Mike Madough, supervisor of the Child Advocacy Center in Norwich, says they will hold their Annual National Crime Victims Rights Week Community Awareness and Recognition Breakfast this Wednesday, where people in the community who do great things in helping victims of crime everyday will be recognized.

On Friday of this week, the Child Advocacy Center at 8 Silver Street in Norwich will hold an open house. Tours of the center will be provided; the community will learn about the education outreach programs they have and how their team works to help victims of abuse, maltreatment and neglect.

The open house runs from noon to 4 pm Friday. The public is invited to attend.
