The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued its forecast for temperature and precipitation across the country for December, January and February.

Not surprisingly, your guess is as good as theirs. In the graphic below, areas in white -- about 50 percent of the country, including CNY -- represent an equal chance of temperatures coming in below, above or at normal level. Basically, who the heck knows?!

Even more egregious is the NOAA's prediction for precipitation. The graphic below shows the NOAA predicts, oh, anything, really. Will we get tons of snow? Maybe. Will we get any snow at all? You tell me. Will New York become a desert? It could!

Look, we understand meteorologists have a tough job. The weather is not easily predictable, especially when trying to forecast 2-6 months out. But why even release something like this? It provides no useful information to anyone. I guess we'll just look out the window and decide if we need the shovel.
