Lauren L. McMaster, 78, of New Berlin pleaded guilty to one count of second degree criminal mischief, a class E felony in Chenango County Court Tuesday.

McMaster had been indicted on six counts of second degree criminal mischief and one count of tampering with physical evidence. He made his plea bargain in the middle of jury selection.

Lauren allegedly killed six of his neighbor's horses. As part of his plea bargain, Lauren will pay restitution, receive five years probation and serve weekends in jail for four months.
