NYSEG is now reporting that power is almost completely restored to Delaware, Otsego and Chenango counties. Only scattered outages remain after powerful storms struck the area Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Anne Carnike, NYEG's field customer service supervisor, said the storm knocked out an off-road transmission line, which was difficult to access.

At its peak, nearly 15,000 NYSEG customers lost power in the state, according to NYSEG's website. By Thursday morning, NYSEG had restored power to nearly all customers outside of Delaware County, where 1,000 were still in the dark.
