New York takes steps to tighten verification of child care provider experience and qualifications. The bill called “Lulu and Leo’s Law” is in memory of Lucia and Leo Krim killed by their nanny who included false information on her application to become their caregiver. It is now a crime for an individual to intentionally making a false written statement about themselves or another person while they are being considered for employment or while under employment.
