Long Beach Woman Charged in Delaware County for Promoting Prison Contraband

Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Long Beach woman over the weekend for promoting prison contraband, a felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Officials say that while Donna Whelan, 52, was being booked in at the Delaware County Jail on unrelated criminal charges, a quantity of cocaine was allegedly found while searching her purse.

Whelan was arraigned in Delhi Town Court and was returned to jail on $1,000 cash bail.
