Local Singer Wins Golden Ticket on American Idol

A local high schooler and country singer has advanced to the Hollywood round of American Idol.

Kaitlyn Jackson, 15, of Norwich, Chenango County sang an original song about her grandfather, impressing the judges, and earning a golden ticket to the next round of try-outs. She was prominently featured on the first episode of the 13th season of American Idol.

The Hollywood rounds will run February 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th.
