A motion to disqualify Chenango County District Attorney Joseph McBride from prosecuting murder suspect Ganesh R. Ramsaran was denied in Chenango County Court on Monday.

The motion alleged that there was a conflict of interest in the District Attorney’s Office. The motion called for the appointment of a special prosecutor from outside the D.A.'s Office.

Ramsaran faces a 2nd Degree murder charge in connection with the death of his wife Jennifer in December of last year. Her body was identified Feb. 28 after she was found down an embankment in the Town of Pharsalia.
