The Delaware County Local Development Corporation has $65,000 to disburse and will accept applications under the County’s 2011 Flood Relief grant program until April 25, 2014.

The program has recently undergone some revisions, expanding incentives for new small businesses to locate into a flood-impacted main street commercial space, in addition to assisting businesses directly impacted by the floods of 2011.

Applications will now be accepted from entrepreneurs and business owners looking to establish themselves at a flood-impacted main street commercial location. The funds being made available will require a dollar for dollar match and may be used for working capital expenses and the purchase of furniture, fixtures and equipment.

Although the maximum award amount is $10,000, requests for smaller amounts may receive more favorable consideration. Applications from existing businesses will continue to be accepted and will adhere to the original program rules.

Applications can be requested by contacting Lori Paulson with Delaware County Economic Development at 607-746-8595 or lori.paulson@co.delaware.ny.us (Subject line: 2011 Flood Relief Grant).

Since its establishment early in 2012, the program has provided collectively just over $120,000 in grants to eleven businesses.
