As his 16th history-making season in Major League Baseball winds down, Ichiro Suzuki is still adding to his list of memorable moments.  But no matter when he makes his final appearance on the diamond, Ichiro’s story is already being preserved in Cooperstown.  The newest member of MLB’s 3,000-hit club, Ichiro added to his legacy at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum by donating artifacts from his 3,000th hit – a triple on Sunday, Aug. 7 in the Miami Marlins’ game against the Colorado Rockies in Denver. Ichiro donated several game-worn artifacts to Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson the following day – Monday, Aug. 8 – during a press conference in Miami.

A collection of these artifacts will be on display in the Museum’s Whole New Ballgame exhibit beginning Tuesday, Aug. 16. The Museum’s collection now contains more than two dozen three-dimensional artifacts donated by Ichiro since 2000.
