Thirty-nine children and three adults are able to call themselves original cast members of the iconic Baby Boom television show, The Mickey Mouse Club Show.

Of these kids only nine of them were called on to do the heavy lifting.  They were known as The Red Team and they did the majority of the singing, dancing and interacting in the first season.  They were real pros and many had some entertainment business experience before being plucked out of the playgrounds of elementary schools for stardom.

So, how many of these original Red Team Mousketeers are still alive from that first televised show, October 3, 1955?

All but Anette Funicello, who passed away April 8 at the age of 70!

Those still living include: Sharon Baird (now 70), Bobby Burgess (71), Lonnie Burr (69), Tommy Cole (71), Darlene Gillespie (71), Cubby O'Brien (66), Karen Pendleton (66) and Doreen Tracey (70).

Here is a clip featuring the original Red Team and many others form the old show.  Of course Bobby Burgess went on to fame as a member of the Lawrence Welk Show family.  You will also see Don Brady who went ot to play Robbie on My Three Sons.  Also, sharp-eyed viewers will remember little Johnny.  He is Johnny Crawford who went on to play the son in The Rifleman.

Enjoy!
