Does the above scene look all too familiar?  Does your community have rundown or abandoned properties that act as an eyesore? Are there buildings that come up time and again for tax sales only to be bought cheap and neglected further? Are these buildings dragging down your property values and tax revenues in the community? Neighborhood deterioration is a growing problem in our local communities. Here's a new program that could help be a part of the solution. GO-EDC believes this is something we all need to be listening to.

To address this problem, there will be a discussion about Land Banks, a cost effective way to help communities deal with problem buildings being explored for the 6-County region, on Monday, October 27th at 6pm in the Red Dragon Theatre (Hunt Union) on the SUNY Oneonta campus. This meeting is open to all, but reservations are encouraged to assure sufficient seating and handouts. RSVP by calling 315-866-4671 or email: info@mvedd.org.
