On April 24, 1940, Hartwick College's "Scholastic Honor Day" began as a community-wide event in which faculty, staff, students and parents convened to call out the academic accomplishments of the student body. Now, 74 years later, the tradition continues.

While the event is now called "Honors Convocation," the intent of the ceremony remains. The event serves to recognize exceptional academic achievement; a celebration of excellence in scholarship.

The 2014 Honors Convocation Ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7 in Lambros Arena, Binder Physical Education Center. Hartwick College President Margaret Drugovich and members of the Hartwick College community will convene to honor and congratulate the recipients of more than 150 awards granted by academic departments and programs, as well as by several staff departments.
