Dan Cassavaugh, known far and wide as "Dan the Man," is leaving our radio stations as of today.

Dan has taken a position with the University of Georgia system just outside of Atlanta.  He will once again bring his IT wizardry this time to one of the newest college campuses in America.  Dan is a super talented young man who has been invaluable to all of us at the radio station as we slowly ventured into the social media whirl.  He has been patient with all of us "old timers" here gently guiding us through the intricacies of Tweets, Twitters, Facebooking and web posting.

It was Dan's idea to visit animal shelters weekly for his videotaping of "Dan the Man's Furry Friends" and he saw several pets get adopted out to good homes because of his efforts.  Dan also worked closely with me on our big story about "Christopher" the abandoned baby in Walton from decades ago.

Dan has a passion for sports and has called many live sporting events for our Townsquare stations over the last year and a half.  And he has even filled in for me on my show in my absences.

Our loss is Georgia's gain and we couldn't be happier for this talented young man.  Plus, he couldn't be happier either...he is heading to the home of Southern Barbecue!  So we can all be certain that his "Barbecue Journey" will continue on for many more miles.

Good luck "Dan the Man!....it's been fun.
