This week we meet Dixie, a beagle mix whose story will break your heart.

Dixie came to the Delaware Valley Humane Society in Sidney a couple months ago with an odd marking around her snout. You may notice the discoloration in the photo above.

Karen, who runs the DVHS, said that Dixie's mouth had been wired shut at some point in her life. That, however, has not diminished Dixie's playful spirit.

As you can see in the video below, she is well behaved, can listen to commands and just wants to be loved. Dixie loves toys and treats and is already housebroken.
