Here's an unprecedented opportunity for area residents to receive free medical, dental, optometry, and veterinary services from July 13th to July 23rd for free through Greater Chenango Cares and a Department of Defense program called Innovative Readiness Training Purpose (IRT).  There will be no income, insurance or residency requirements.

IRT is a US military volunteer training opportunity that provides training and readiness for military personnel while addressing the needs of underserved American communities. Through this program, military units refine their engineering, health care, diving, and transportation skills by performing services and developing projects for communities that otherwise would not have the resources to conduct them on their own.

This is a huge opportunity for area residents to get access to care.  Each day, appointments will run from 8am to 5pm at Norwich High School/Middle School on Midland Drive in Norwich.  Many appointments are filling up fast so don't hesitate to make your appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome.

For those needing transportation from Oneonta, there will be a 13 passenger van leaving Riverside School at 11:45am on July 13,15,16,17,21,22.  It will leave Norwich at 5pm, at the close of the event.  As with all the transportation opportunities, passengers need to pre-register at (607) 435-0501 . Please call between noon and 5pm.
