UPDATE: 1:30pm: Human remains have been found.  Identification of the body is pending an autopsy.

The remains were found in a container in the water.  Police did confirm that the remains were those of an infant, but would not speculate whether they those of Baby Levon, who has been missing since May 29, 2013.

An autopsy will be performed by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office.

The first "water search" is taking place in the Mohawk River off of Leland Avenue in Utica.

Seven divers from the New York State Police are searching the water alongside Utica Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation authorities and the Oneida County District Attorney's office.

To that end Leland Avenue from I-790 South will be closed to traffic until the search is complete.

New York State Police are announcing that the baby's father, Javon Wameling. is under arrest facing felony burglary charges.  Jim Rondenelli's story is below:

Father Of Levon Wameling Arrested

The father of missing baby Levon Wameling has been arrested by State Police on felony burglary charges. Police say 27-year old Jevon Wameling entered a home in Oriskany last month and stole money and jewelry. The investigation is continuing and police say additional charges may be filed.
