The New Berlin man accused of killing his wife in December of 2012 appeared in Chenango County Court Monday morning.

Ganesh Ramsaran appeared after both of his attorneys requested to be dismissed. His attorneys, James Chamberlin of Norwich and F. Stanton Ackerman of Schenectady, said Ramsaran was having financial problems. According to a document from Ackerman, Ramsaran owed at least $72,000 in attorney and expert fees. Chamberlin noted that if the experts are not paid they may not continue any work.

Ramsaran is reportedly bringing in a New Jersey attorney, a fact he failed to report to his attorneys. He said paperwork will be filed for his new attorney by Tuesday.

The hearing ended with Ramsaran and the District Attorney accepting the motion to dismiss both attorneys.
