As the owner of the Oneonta Theater looks for someone to buy the facility, the Greater Oneonta Historical Society is beginning work on keeping the theater locally owned and operating as a performance space. 

According to a Utica TV station the theater’s owner has it on the market for $725,000 and says at this point it is no longer his concern what happens to it. The society met last week with the public to come up with a plan for keeping the theater open and operating and a number of options were discussed.
