The Greater Oneonta Economic Development Council, in cooperation with Citizens' Voices, has scheduled a program for the leaders of towns, villages, and hamlets in Otsego and neighboring counties, as well as the City of Oneonta.

The meeting will be on Tuesday May 6th, from 1 to 3 pm at the Foothill's Performing Arts and Civic Center in Oneonta.

Staff from the New York Department of State’s Division of Local Government Services will discuss opportunities to leverage regional assets, generate cost savings, and increase service delivery efficiency through shared services and functional consolidation.

The program will include an overview of the Local Government Efficiency grant funding and the technical support offered by DOS to assist local officials develop new and innovative opportunities to meet today’s service delivery challenges. The session will discuss existing examples of shared services and consolidations in the local government functional areas, including public safety, infrastructure and administrative services, and enable attendees to share ideas for regional development.
