Today, Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced that a Delaware County Grand Jury handed down Sealed Indictments Thursday afternoon, January 24, 2019, after considering evidence relating to a narcotics trafficking investigation conducted in the Delhi area by members of the Delaware County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division. Sealed Indictment Arrest Warrants issued by the Delaware County Court Thursday afternoon were executed Friday, January 25, 2019 by Sheriff’s Investigators and Deputies.

Arrested on the Sealed Indictment Arrest Warrants were 61 year-old Herbert J. Jones, Jr., and 47 year-old Nicole S. Byron, of Delhi, NY. They have both been charged with the class B felony offense of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree. They are each accused of selling Heroin in the Village of Delhi during December, 2018.

Byron was located and arrested in the City of Albany early Friday afternoon by members of the City of Albany Police Department and was subsequently turned over Sheriff’s Investigators and returned to Delaware County where she was held pending arraignment.

Jones was arraigned in Delaware County Court on Friday afternoon before County Court Judge Richard D. Northrup, Jr., and was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to be held without bail pending continuation of his arraignment.

Byron was arraigned in Delaware County Court on Monday morning before County Court Judge Richard D. Northrup, Jr., and was also remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to be held without bail pending continuation of his arraignment.
