Davenport Fire Destroys Home

Monday morning, a fire destroyed a house at 133 Webb Hill Road in Davenport. Officials say the cause of the fire is undetermined.  The fire started in the kitchen but exact events are unknown.  Fire crews from East Meredith, Meridale, Pindars Corners and Davenport were called to the scene at about 10:45am Monday. The lone resident of the home, 60-year-old Mary Ann Gannon was not home at the time.  The East Meredith volunteer fire department is planning to hold a clothing drive for Gannon.  To donate call (607) 278-5836.
