Dan 'the Man" has been on vacation in the south this week.  He just sent me a photo of a fascinating piece of "roadside America."

When he was driving through Marietta, Georgia, Dan came upon a 56-foot tall chicken in front of a Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise.  Apparantly it was built in 1956 and is a legendary landmark in the area.  It is the most unusual KFC store you will ever find.  Pilots use the "big chick" as a guidepost to nearby airports.  When it was severely damaged in a storm in 1993, the owner wanted to tear it down.

The public demanded that their beloved  chicken be restored adn so it was rebuilt.

I can only imagine that Dan was salivating when he passed this place!
