Governor Andrew Cuomo is calling for increased student safety on school buses. The Democrat proposes installing stop-arm cameras on school buses to catch drivers failing to stop for buses as required by law. The proposal also increases the fine for passing a stopped school bus and requires students to wear seat belts on school buses. In New York, approximately 1.5 million students ride school buses to and from school every year.
