Chenango County Man Accused of Attacking Woman

An Oxford man was charged with assault after he allegedly injured a woman during a dispute.

Authorities say 47-year-old Leslie Brewer was arrested late Thursday night following the incident in the town of McDonough.

According to New York State Police, troopers determined Brewer had trespassed by going onto property outside a residence. He allegedly threatened a man who was outside the home with his young child.

Brewer is accused of then striking a woman in the face. Although she sustained an injury, she did not require medical attention.

Investigators say Brewer later was found by a Norwich police officer. He was arraigned in McDonough town court and sent to Chenango County Jail on $1,000 bail.
