New York conservation officials have posted online potential changes to freshwater fishing regulations based on fish populations and talks with fishermen. The Department of Environmental Conservation says it's seeking additional feedback from anglers about the changes, which would take effect April 1, 2017 if approved. They are posted on the agency's website. The agency says its proposals are intended to safeguard or expand fish populations, simplify regulations and enhance the experience for sportsmen.
