BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) — A 26-year-old upstate New York woman has pleaded guilty in federal court to sex trafficking of a child.

Lynette Tilden of Utica was among nine people arrested in February 2012 in connection with sex trafficking in central New York that involved a minor. She admitted Friday helping recruit the victim to have sex with clients in exchange for money and drugs.

The victim was 16 at the time.

Troopers said the prostitution ring used the classified site Backpage.com to advertise throughout the Northeast for sex with the victim and transported the victim to various locations including hotels.

The arrests followed a nine-month investigation that's still underway.

Tilden is being held in Delaware County Jail. She's scheduled to be sentenced in July and faces 10 years to life in prison.
