The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network is calling on NY State lawmakers and legislative leaders to make cancer prevention and treatment a top priority. This network is calling for passage of legislation to close the state’s e-cigarette loophole, pass the breast cancer bill and improve timely access to medications by regulating step therapy policies. Step therapy is the policy of requiring patients being treated for serious diseases to be prescribed the least costly medication and if that doesn’t work, move up to the next. This practice would be reformed by this legislation.
