Broome Toddler Dies After Falling Into Pool

Authorities say a one-year-old child died after falling into a swimming pool at a Broome County home.

According to state police, troopers were sent to a Town of Lisle residence around 5 p.m. Wednesday following a 911 call reporting an unresponsive toddler.

Investigators say the child fell into the pool and had been underwater for a short time before being discovered.

The toddler was pronounced dead at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.

State police say the manner of death was ruled accidental and their investigation is ongoing.
