This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, the Farmers' Museum will be stepping back in time for Blacksmithing Weekend. Visitors can experience and learn about the craft, and the cultural significance it had in the earlier days, while also participating in various blacksmithing activities. The heat will be turned up as a team of blacksmiths create their best work yet for spectators to observe. This and more will all take place at the 1827 Field Blacksmith Shop. There will also be sheep, goats, and other animals at the Children’s Barnyard for the kids. Don’t forget to take a ride on the famous Empire State Carousel, a museum turned into a ride! This event takes place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on both days.

Blacksmithing Weekend is included with regular museum admission. Adults: $12.00; seniors: $10.50; youth: $6.00; children 6 and under:  Free. NYSHA members are admitted free, along with active-duty and retired career military.
