For almost my entire 26 year radio career I have ended my shows with "I'm looking for a meatball with my name on it."  I have no idea where that saying came from.  It means nothing.  But....

Over the years that little phrase has taken on a life of its own.  People actually yell at me on the street, "Hey, Big Chuck, did you find that meatball yet?"  And, the most astonishing thing of all, my fans have gifted me with meatballs of all kinds over the years.  Drawings, photos, papier mache, wooden, plastic, glass and a whole variety of meatballs have made their way to my studio over the years.  In the photo above you can see me holding four favorites from my "meatball collection" (L-R):  a knit meatball with my name on it, a wooden one on a stand, a small ceramic meatball (note the little pieces of cheese in it), and a clay one with a name flag sticking out of it.

Once, while I was bowling at a fundraiser at the Southside Holiday Lanes, a group brought me in a real, homemade 25 pound meatball.  It was all cooked and had "BIG CHUCK" written across the top in strips of cheese.  Yup, you guessed it.  A meatball with my name on it!

Well, a listener sent me the following video.  She told me this should be my new theme song.  She may be right.  Take a look, it is from the 1940s and it is cute.
