Battle of the Bands Spotlight: The Jason Wicks Band

Singing from the time that he could talk, Jason Wicks did his first solo at the age of seven. He started playing guitar at the age of 15, and in 2008 formed The Jason Wicks Band.

Jason has opened up for several big country acts, including Blackberry Smoke, David Adam Burns, Matt Gary, Blaine Larsen, Andy Griggs, Clint Black, and Wynonna Judd.

He is currently booked to open this summer for Bo Bice, David Lee Murphy, Darryl Worley, Tracy Lawrence, Big and Rich, The Oak Ridge Boys and Randy Travis.

Band members include:

• Cody Hawkins-drums
• Rick Owens-bass guitar
• Phil Husted-steel guitar, banjo, dobra
• Michael Bell-lead guitar

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the Budweiser Happy Hour. Bands take the stage at 7 p.m., and we'll be giving out tickets to the Taste of Country Music Festival all night!
