The needs of seniors in Otsego County are significant, but help can be challenging to access easily and timely in a rural environment. Bassett Medical Center will hold a Senior Resource Fair on Friday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lobby of the Clinic building on River Street in Cooperstown. Admission is free. Attendees will be connected with resources on a variety of topics.

“We look at common areas of interest among seniors in our community and gather experts who can provide them with strong resources for independent and healthy living,” says Barbara Tarka, Volunteer Services Coordinator at Bassett Medical Center. “Participants will have access to information on everything from medications, financial assistance for medications and home health equipment to skilled nursing care, home care for seniors, hospice, Alzheimer’s disease, free blood pressure screenings and much more.”

Organizations and agencies that will have staff on hand to answer questions at Bassett’s Senior Resource Fair include:

·         At Home Care, Inc.

·         Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care

·         Bassett Medical Center’s Clinical Nutrition Department
