The Farmers’ Museum in Cooperstown marks Independence Day on Monday, July 4, a week from today, with historic sounds, food, and fun. Visit after local parades to hear the muskets blast with our Militia Muster and watch the Declaration of Independence read aloud on the Village Green at 1:00 pm.

Museum artisans will demonstrate traditional blacksmithing, letterpress printing, and other trades throughout the day. At the Lippitt Farmstead, learn about life on the farm and delight in the baby animals at the Children’s Barnyard. Just for fun, ride the Empire State Carousel and marvel at the Cardiff Giant. Enjoy traditional 19th century music performed throughout the day.

The museum is open July 4 and every day this summer from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
