Both as a solo artist and as the front man for the legendary group The Drifters, Ben E. King was one of the most recognized voices coming out of the radios, jukeboxes and record players of the late 1950s and 1960s.  His song "Stand By Me" is considered to be one of the rock era's greatest hits.  That song along with his other hits "Spanish Harlem" and  "There Goes My Baby" were all inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

King died today at the age of 76.
