Esther Williams, the glamorous swimming star who went on the become a MGM screen legend, has died at her home.  She was 91 years old.

Williams, one of the last of the great MGM studio stars from Hollywood's golden era, appeared in dozens of hit films.  From 1945 to 1949 she appeared regularly in some of the biggest box-office movies of the period.
