Baby Boomer Alert: How Many Remember the 1963 Station Wagon Convertible?
This is the oddest car ad I have ever seen. And yet somehow it seems perfectly natural. A station wagon that was also a convertible.
Studebaker made this in 1963. It was called the Lark Wagonaire. They spent a lot of money promoting it as a "family car to go on any outing." It was gone within a year.
From what I can research, they had serious rusting problems with the not-so-airtight closing of the movable roof.
Have you ever heard of the Wagonaire before? Take a look at this!
