She was everybody's favorite wise-cracking aunt, neighbor, teacher, secretary and friend.

Eve Arden was one of the most popular actresses of the 20th century.  Her career in movies, radio, television and stage spanned more than five decades.  She was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance as Joan Crawford's sidekick in the 1945 classic Mildred Pierce.

Arden brought her radio character Connie Brooks to television (Our Miss Brooks) in 1952 making her one of the mediums early, greatest stars.  Gale Gordon co-starred as the cantankerous principal Osgood Conklin and actor Richard Crenna (then billed as Dick Crenna) got his start as one of Miss Brooks' students Walter Denton.  In 1967 she starred with Kaye Ballard in another sitcom called The Mothers-In-Law.

Late in her life, Eve Arden co-starred in the biggest musical in film history, 1978's Grease. She played Rydell High's ditsy principle Miss McGee.

Eve Arden died in 1990 at the age of 82.
