Baby Boomer Alert: Happy Birthday to the Frisbee

The flying disk toy was invented in 1938 so it is now 76 years old.  Happy Birthday!

What started as a Californina pie pan tossing game in 1938 slowly evolved into  the plastic dish that we now n\know as the frisbee and has sool more than a billion units over the years.

By the time Wham-O Company got its hands on the pie dish 1957, changed the name from the Pluto Platter to the frisbee (after a local baking company) and mass marketed it on late night television the toy was well establish throughout the world.  We all played with Patent #3359678 as kids and they are still sold to the newer and future generations as "hours and hours of backyard fun."
