State Agriculture Commissioner Darrel Aubertine is encouraging farmers across the state to fill out the U.S. Census of Agriculture.

Currently, the New York State response rate stands at 68 percent. Aubertine says that the data from the census helps him make the best possible decisions on behalf of New York farmers.

By completing and returning the census questionnaire, producers provide an opportunity to help shape farm programs, boost rural services, and grow their farm future.

Those who have not yet completed the Ag census will be sent another which will be followed up by a phone call and site visit.
