Area Sheriff Deputies in Joint Training

Last week members of both the Otsego County and Delaware County Sheriff’s Office participated in reality-based training. This type of training involves officers being placed in situations while experiencing realistic high-stress. The training was designed and presented by instructors from the two agencies and involved a series of specially designed scenarios enabling participants to gain valuable hands-on experience while improving their skills. Teaching points related to Conflict Management, Force De-escalation, and Threat Assessment, served as the objectives of the scenarios.
