U.S. Senator Charles Schumer announced Tuesday that Delaware County will receive $3.8 million in economic development disaster aid funding.

The money will enable Amphenol, Delaware County's largest employer, to continue moving ahead with site preparation at the company's new facility in the town of Sidney.

The old site was heavily damaged in 2011 when Tropical Storm Lee and Hurricane Irene hit the region.

With the funding, the company will have a new facility and retain over a thousand jobs in the southern tier.
