Do you need another sign that we are in the spring season?  Maybe you do after the recent snowfall.  The Community Foundation for South Central New York has announced their 2021 Spring Grants.  This Johnson City Based Foundation helps out non-profits in five Counties but let's focus on Delaware County.

Starting with the popular Franklin Stage Company, they were handed $20,000 to support the 2021 season.  The same amount of money went to the Roxbury Central School District for their summer program.   Habitat for Humanity of Delaware County needs a construction trailer and they got $15,000 for it.   The Preservation League of NYS will collect an $8,000 grant to go towards capacity building workshops for historic site directors.  Just under 8-grand was awarded to the Roxbury Arts Group to support a community art project.  $7,000 for AMR Artists to help make outdoor public art tours happen in 5 Delaware County Towns.

The impact of COVID-19 continues to be felt and that's why the Wilson Children's Center was handed $5,000 to support their payroll during the COVID quarantine. $5,000 is being doled out in support for a much needed donor management system upgrade at the Mercy House of the Southern Tier.   Another $5,000 goes to Habitat for Humanity-Delaware County to assist with a project manager for their Grand Gorge build.  Keep the $5,000 grants going with the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County putting the money towards safety equipment in order to resume summer camp at 4-H Camp Shankitunk.  Another 5-grand to Rural Health Network for SCNY to be put towards their Rural Food Retail Initiative.  Last but not least, Summer Savoyards will pick up $2,500 to help fund their 60th anniversary virtual program.
